About the Instructor

For nearly two decades, Reza Moazzami has taught capstone strategy and general management courses on the TMT industry to thousands of students ranging from business/economics/engineering undergraduates and MBA students at UC Berkeley to working professionals and executives in the industry. Reza's courses have consistently been rated among the top 10% of electives across four UC Berkeley degree programs (undergraduate BA, full-time MBA, part-time MBA, and Executive MBA) and all evaluation metrics (value of course, effectiveness of instructor, and difficulty of course). Since Fall 2014, these courses have been unbundled from the traditional university affiliation and are now open to all.

Reza has over twenty years of experience as an engineer, entrepreneur/CEO, investor, adviser, and educator in Telecom/Media/Tech. He started his career as a research engineer at IBM Research and Motorola. He has worked in a variety of both full-time and part-time/advisory roles in numerous start-ups and investment firms spanning a broad array of TMT market segments from internet/media services and software to network operators, equipment, and component technologies.

Reza received B.S. with highest honors, M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from UC Berkeley, and a MBA from MIT's Sloan School of Management. He holds eleven patents and has been a speaker at numerous TMT industry conferences and leading universities.
